Practical Sourdough is operated by Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/706220/07, a private company registered in South Africa and based in Cape Town. Its postal and physical address is available on request from [email protected] and is on the public CIPC register against that registration number. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for the personal information processed on this site. Its Information Officer is the director of Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, registered with the Information Regulator under registration 2026-066332 and reachable at [email protected].

What this site collects

We use Umami, which we host ourselves, to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites.

If you use the feedback prompt on a page, the text you type, the page you were on and your browser's user-agent string are sent to our own automation server and reviewed by hand. Do not type personal information into it.

The bake plans and schedules you build are saved in your own browser's local storage and never reach us.

The site is served through Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived security logs including your IP address and stores them outside South Africa as our operator, which section 72 of POPIA permits.

If you email us, we keep the message for as long as it takes to answer it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we process it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
